30 September 2024

Dear Parent and Carer,

It has been a busy start to the school year and it has been lovely to speak to and see so many parents at end of day collection. at the meet the teacher and Reception parent lunch.

Values: We continue to explore our core values this term firstly focusing on 'Aspiration' and how we seek to achieve our very best. We are also exploring 'Respect', particularly towards other people. In assemblies, we have considered the importance of treating everyone with respect regardless of who they are or how they behave. It has been pleasing to see this value in the playground and around the school building.

Snack Time: We strongly encourage children to eat fruit or vegetable snacks at break time. Other snacks are suitable (cereal bars, fruit rolls etc.) but please avoid chocolate, sweets and crisps. Can I also remind you that we are a nut-free school.

I would like to give a big congratulations to Javishth who participated in Dens Charity walk on 14th September 2024.  Well done!

DATES: Please click on the link below to see the calendar dates. Information and booking for parents evening will be sent out nearer the time.

At Jupiter we feel it is incredibly important to develop children's character and offer them a rich and wide range of experiences and opportunities through a wider curriculum. As a school we try extremely hard to offer many free opportunities for your child/ren so many of the events this year are completely free or a small donation of £1. However, some costs are unavoidable and in order to support parents financially as much as we can, staff continue to seek discounts/ funding from a variety of companies as we want to ensure all of our pupils access this exciting range of activities and trips to support their growth of knowledge and learning through engaging enrichment experiences.

We hope this supports you to budget for this expense more easily throughout the year. Please look at our Enrichment calendar for this academic year - it is available to view by clicking on this link which takes you to the school website. https://www.jupiter.herts.sch.uk/681/enrichment-calendar

Attendance and Leave of Absence Policy

A summary of the school’s Attendance and Leave of Absence Policy is available on the school website - Attendance and Absence Policy 2024

As you are aware the government changed penalty notices and fines which came into effect from 1st September. Please read the poster and policy for further details.

If you are intending to ask for leave of absence during term time for your child then please read this policy first.

Attendance in school is really important. Being in school is important to your child's academic achievement, well being, and wider development.

Getting to school late can also mean your child misses out on important learning which could affect their achievement or they could miss social time with friends and the time to settle into class which can impact on their well being.
