28 March 2024

Dear Parent and Carer,

It has been a busy and amazing Spring term with lots of exciting learning and activities taking place across Jupiter. It was lovely to see so many of you at the parent evenings and Science gallery event. Thank you for your attendance and discussions during parents evening. We found it such a useful opportunity to spend time discussing the progress of your child and how you can support them in school.

All of the pupils and staff have yet again done an amazing job at highlighting the importance of keeping our planet and community a clean, safe and tidy place by taking part in the Big Spring Clean event this week.

The Year 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their PGL residential trip. On Monday 18th March Year 6 took their annual trip to PGL, this year we went to Liddington. The week consisted of activities such as a giant swing, zip wire, raft building and archery tag. Year 6 and staff had an excellent week making new friends and memories for life.

Congratulations to Mrs Muckle, Foxes class teacher, who is expecting her second child in September.  Her maternity leave dates are yet to be confirmed.

Please remember to check to ensure choices are correct and order dinners for the first day back to school. There is a new summer/autumn menu from 16 April. Please click on link to view menus on HCL's website: https://www.hcl.co.uk/primary-menu-images

Have a wonderful Easter break and we look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday 16 April.

Road Safety

Year 4 pupils have learnt alot about road safety this half term and took part in a pedestrian skills workshop. While the Year 5 pupils actively engaged in a workshop about 'distraction' and importance of not being on devices when crossing roads.

Next half term the Year 2 pupils will be taking part in scooterbility training.

Please ensure all of our children can come into school safely by driving and parking sensibly.

Curriculum

Science week went off with a bang with plenty of crazy and exciting experiments happening across the school. It was wonderful to see so many parents come and join us for the Science gallery showcase.

This term we were thrilled to invite in a Rabbi to support our learning in KS2 about Judaism in RE. Rabbi Adam spoke about his personal experiences and beliefs towards the religion. Significant resources were shown to children, followed by an explanation on what they are used for. All children listened exceptionally well and were able to ask suitable questions to support their understanding. We were all fascinated and eager to learn about how Jewish people worship.

PTA

Friends of Jupiter PTA, focus is to raise funds for our children throughout the year.
