Dear Parent and Carer,

The children have thoroughly enjoyed the events of book week across this week. Thank you for your donations and support. we collected over £1100 on the book fair. This is fantastic as this means as a school we receive back from Scholastic a huge £500 approximately to spend on books for in school.

On Thursday the Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in a Show Racism the Red Card workshop. There was plenty of discussion and learning about treating everyone with respect and having tolerance and ways we can all stamp out racism. The external provider commented on how polite, responsive and engaged our pupils were, commenting 'a great group of children, it has been a pleasure'. This feedback is always fabulous to hear so I wanted to share with yourselves.

As you are aware our Mindful coach Lucy Mortimer is at Jupiter every Thursday  supporting our children through mindful sessions and giving them strategies to try out at home and school. Last week on Thursday 8th February  was extra special as the whole school took part in workshops linked to mindfulness and mental health.

We are planning on offering a monthly 'Mindful Cuppa' for parents/carers. It is an opportunity to come together and chat but also Lucy will run a mindful session so you can experience for yourselves and also get an insight into the strategies we share with your children in school so you can perhaps try some together as a family at home.  I will send through more information on these dates after half term.

Have a wonderful half term and we look forward to seeing the children back in school on Monday 26th February.
