April 2024

Dear Parent and Carer,

Welcome back to the summer term. I hope you had a restful and enjoyable Easter break.

It has been an absolute joy to witness the eagerness of our children dive into learning and explore new horizons during this first week.

The summer term ahead is an exciting and busy term, with lots of learning and events planned. The term will have lots to look forward to such as more trips, walk to school week, PTA summer fair, assessments, sports day, transition in preparation for next year to name just a few and of course an opportunity to say farewell and good luck to our Year 6 pupils.

Please do keep looking at the diary dates and make sure you have them in your calendar.

PARK AWAY FROM OUR SCHOOL

With the sun coming out from under the clouds (for minutes) and warmer temperatures, it is the best time to promote walking/scooting/cycling to school with your child/ren.

Walking or biking/scooting to school is not only a great to keep a healthy lifestyle but it will also create a reduction in traffic outside the school gates.

During this term we will be promoting walk to school week and running a walking bus which your child can join. More details to follow in the coming weeks.

Mindfulness

Welcome to the summer term! I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break and managed to recharge the batteries! Did any of you have a go at:

Taking a walk in the sunshine

Helping someone out with something

Reading a book

Inviting a friend round

Visiting somewhere new

Enjoying some nice food

All of these activities help us to THRIVE! We can support our mental health which can then help support our learning in school. It is so lovely seeing how the children are embedding their mindfulness skills each week when I come in. There is a real sense of friendship, respect and happiness in classes which makes Jupiter such a great environment to be in. Both staff and children are always happy to help and support one another in so many ways.

MINDFUL CUPPA

Fancy a Mindful Cuppa this term? We are holding monthly tea & biscuits straight after drop-off on the following dates:

Thursday May 23rd

Thursday June 20th

Thursday July 18th

It would be lovely to see you there and to share some mindful tips - ideas for you to use for yourself (we all know how exhausting parenting can sometimes be!) as well as ideas to help with your children.

Looking forward to another great term ahead and hopefully see you on May 23rd.
