30th October 2023
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back. Hope you had a fabulous half term week.
At Jupiter we will be continuing to teach our children the importance of road safety and with the darker nights drawing in we will be reminding them how to keep safe. Please remember that on Friday 3rd November we are holding a 'Be bright be seen non uniform day'. Please send your child to school wearing bright clothes for a coin donation.
This week your child will have the opportunity to take part in an "Autumn Art Day" competition, where the children will decorate pumpkins at school to celebrate this wonderful season. We will provide a variety of decorating materials, including paints, markers, stickers, ribbons, and more. The children will not be carving pumpkins.
So that every child is involved. We would be grateful if you are happy to donate a pumpkin for your child to bring into school on either Monday 30th or Tuesday 31st October for them to decorate.
Reminder - Year 6 Secondary Transfer – September 2024 A reminder that applications for secondary schools for September 2024 must be completed by 31st October 2023: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions

Israel/Palestine conflict
We are all aware of the continuing upsetting events in Israel and Palestine and the impact it is having on members of our school community. It has been shocking and saddening to watch the conflict unfold over recent weeks. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the conflict.
Our school community is a diverse and inclusive one. We cherish the diversity that exists amongst our pupils, their families and our staff, and we firmly believe in fostering an environment where everyone can feel safe, respected and valued. However, it is of paramount importance for our school to maintain its commitment to neutrality when it comes to political and international matters.
We would encourage parents/carers to monitor how children are receiving information about world events, and would strongly discourage children being able to search on social media for updates about the recent conflict, as the content may be extremely distressing.
Thank you
We would like to say a big thank you to Halfords in Hemel and The Little Bike Company.
Halfords in Hemel kindly donated five children's helmets for our Reception children to use when riding the bikes in the garden. The Little Bike company in Berkhamsted also kindly donated seven helmets for our chldren to use. This has greatly supported our efforts to promote being safe when using bikes or scooters!
